Ingredients:
Besan /chickpeaflour 500gms
Salt to taste
Oil to deepfry
Ajwain seeds /carrom seeds 1/2tsp
Rice flour 1tbsp (optional)
Water as required
Murukku maker
Method:
1. Heat a pan suitable for deep frying
2. Add oil for deepfry of your choice
3.Heat in medium flame
4.sieve the besan flour
5.Add besan,salt to a plate
6.Add 1tbsp hot oil to the flour,mix until its crumbly
This step is crucial to get a crispy ompodi
7.Add crushed carromseeds/ajwai/omam
8.Mix well with warm water until a smooth dough
9. Grease the Murukku maker with oil
10. Add the dough and make murukku as shown
11.Fry in medium heat until slightly golden
